B series 2004-2011
As soon as Guy Geva was exposed to the world of Buddhism, it was obvious that it wouldn't be long before he started painting the topic.
In this series Guy Geva tries to convey the Buddhist message that the Buddha ("the man that is aware of the feelings of those surrounding him") is present within every man. He does it by combining Buddhist motifs with Tel-Avivian characters (Homeless people, working class people, or just passes by on the street).
The paintings are full of symbols such as Lotus flowers that symbolize wisdom, rings of light that symbolize man's holiness and combining the characters in the surrounding nature which symbolize the bond that exists between all living creatures in the world.
The series was intended to induce calmness and serenity at the viewer, and during the work process, Guy Geva empties his mind from thoughts in order to reach a state of meditation.
סידרת B הבודהיזם 2004 - 2011
לאחר שגיא גבע התוודע לעולם הבודהיזם ברור היה שלא יאוחר היום בו יתחיל לצייר ציורים על הנושא.
בסדרת ציורים זו גיא גבע הצייר, מנסה להעביר את המסר הבודהיסטי כי בכל אדם נמצא הבודהה ("האדם המודע לרגשות הסובבים אותו") על ידי שילוב של מוטיבים בודהיסטים עם דמויות תל אביביות
(אם זה חסרי בית, פועלים ואף העוברים ושבים ברחוב).
הציורים מלאים בסמלים כגון: פרחי הלוטוס- שמסמלים חוכמה, טבעות האור- אשר מייצגות את קדושתו של האדם, ושילוב הדמויות בטבע הסובב אותם- אשר מסמל את הקשר הקיים בין כל היצורים בעולם.
הסדרה נועדה להשרות תחושת רוגע ושלווה אצל הצופה ובמהלך יצירתה גיא גבע מרוקן את ראשו ממחשבות על מנת להגיע למצב של מדיטציה.
